Plot Summary of Maximum Speed

In Overdrive, a gritty, high-octane psychological thriller, two strangers—former detective Mike Nolan and ex-con Spider Sharma—wake up drugged inside a BMW, both fitted with high-tech explosive collars. A cold, disembodied Voice controls them through earpieces, forcing them to complete increasingly violent and morally twisted tasks under the threat of death.

Their first job is simple: deliver a mysterious package. But what starts as an odd errand turns deadly when the next mission leads them into a suburban house where they find a mutilated corpse and a killer waiting. As they barely escape, the Voice reveals more sinister games, including using Mike’s family as leverage and uncovering Spider’s dark past.

Task after task—breaking into mansions, confronting drug lords, infiltrating strip clubs, and even assassinating a corrupt judge—plunge the two deeper into chaos. Every choice tests their morals, survival instincts, and sanity. Mike, tormented by guilt and fear for his family, begins to unravel, while Spider struggles to balance self-preservation with fractured loyalty.

The Voice, seemingly omnipotent, manipulates their every move, knowing personal details, weaknesses, and secrets. As the day spirals into a blood-soaked nightmare, Mike and Spider are forced to confront not only their past sins but also a terrifying question: What if this isn’t a game… but punishment?

Overdrive is Saw meets Speed in a twisted urban labyrinth where time, trust, and humanity are weaponized—and escape may cost more than life itself.
